Should French doors open inward or outward?

Both are available. Outward-opening doors are more common and maximise interior floor space. Inward-opening is preferred where there isn't enough clearance outside. We'll advise on the best option at your survey.

Can I add side panels to widen my French door opening?

Yes. Fixed or opening side panels can be added to either or both sides of the French doors to increase the overall opening width and bring in even more light.

Are French doors draught-proof?

Yes. Our French doors use full-perimeter weatherstripping and multi-point locking that draws the door tightly against the frame when closed, eliminating draughts completely.

What is the difference between French doors and bifold doors?

French doors consist of two panels that swing open. Bifold doors consist of multiple panels that fold and stack to one or both sides, creating a much wider opening. French doors are more suitable for standard-width openings; bifolds are ideal for wide openings where you want maximum connection to the outside.
